Client overview

This client is one of the member firms of a UK private company. These member firms and each of their related entities, form a global organisation.

As with any company, this member firm of a UK private company experiences various health and safety challenges. The South African offices have a hybrid system in place and therefore some staff are working from home at times. The member firm also needs to ensure that those staff travelling to clients, know which type of challenges they may face during their trips, whether it’s local or international. They have a number of contractors working within their offices on a daily basis. These contractors are being integrated into the client’s health and safety management system.

As this client was pursuing ISO 45001:2018 certification, some of the following challenges were identified:

Absolute Health Services also visits the client’s offices on a regular basis to identify any possible areas which may need to be improved. After discussing these areas with the management team, the aim is to action these points as soon as possible to ensure that the gaps are filled quickly and sufficiently.

Regular evacuation drills are held at the various offices where the OHS team practises the skills which they’ve learnt during their training sessions. Whenever a staff member needs medical assistance, the first aiders are the first to respond to assist where needed.
