Training Courses and Skills Programs

Absolute Health Services offers a suite of specialised health and safety courses, specifically developed to assist our clients with their unique health and safety compliance requirements. The courses listed below are short 1-day courses, thus ensuring that the delegates are not out of the workplace for extended periods, but do receive the required knowledge and skills.

Currently, our specialised health and safety training courses include evacuation planning, HIV AIDS Awareness, stacking and storage, and HAZMAT (hazardous material handling), but we are continuously working on additional courses, as requested by our clients. 

We also offer specialised accredited skills programs such as First Aid, Fire, and Evacuation Responder, which is fully accredited with the Health and Welfare SETA and is NQF (National Qualifications Framework) aligned.

Other skills programs also exist such as Advanced First Aid Responder, as well as Health and Safety Team Member and Health and Safety Specialist / Officer, ensuring that our clients have a range of skills programs to choose from, ensuring that their health and safety teams are well prepared with the required knowledge and skills to be able to complete and perform their criticality important health and safety functions.

Evacuation Planning

This course equips your Health and Safety Team to be prepared for an unexpected evacuation of the workplace, by developing and implementing emergency response procedures, clearly displaying evacuation floor plans, and conducting regular evacuation drills. Bi-annual evacuation drills are an important compliance requirement, and delegates are taught how to complete evacuation drill reports to prove compliance in this regard.

HAZMAT

Many working environments and workplaces store hazardous materials or chemicals on site, which may be either low in volume and low in toxicity, or highly toxic and stored in large volumes. Any workplace dealing with hazardous materials should have Health and Safety Team members trained in how to safely handle and store these substances to minimise the risks to both humans and the environment.

Stacking and Storage

The implementation and maintenance of effective and efficient stacking and storage systems and techniques are very important for all workplaces. A well-controlled and maintained environment allows for effective stock control, minimises wasted expenditure, maintains a good housekeeping environment, and reduces the risk of injury and fire.

HIV AIDS Awareness

Human Immunodeficiency Virus or HIV is a global pandemic affecting millions of people. This one-day course can be presented online or in-person, covering vital information regarding how HIV is spread, how to prevent it from spreading, the four stages of HIV/AIDS, human rights regarding HIV, and more.

First Aid, Fire and Evacuation Responder Skills Program

The three accredited courses that make up this skills program form an important part part of a company’s health & safety legal
compliance training. From first aid skills to basic firefighting and evacuation  planning, a delegate will get a comprehensive 5-days practical and theoretical learning experience. A  workplace assignment will need to be completed and uploaded onto the HWSETA site for  verification and endorsement. This can take anything from 4-6 months but once complete, only  refreshers of the courses are required as this certificate is valid for life.
